Even at the age of 93, my dad is going through a lot of pain. It's been very difficult for him, and I have been witnessing it all.

Even at the age of 93, my dad continues to show me what true strength looks like. Yet lately, that strength is being tested in ways that break my heart. He is going through so much pain—both physically and emotionally—and every moment I see him struggling, I feel a heaviness in my chest that words cannot fully capture. Watching someone you love suffer is one of the hardest experiences in life, especially when it’s your father, the man who once carried you, protected you, and gave you a sense of safety. Now the roles have shifted, and I am the one trying to ease his pain, though at times I feel helpless.
I do everything I can—comforting him when the pain is unbearable, making sure he is as comfortable as possible, and being present in every way I know how. Yet deep down, I wish I could take it all away from him. I wish I could carry his suffering on my own shoulders just so he could have some peace. It hurts deeply to see him grimace, to hear his sighs of discomfort, and to know that age and frailty have stolen much of the ease he once had.
Despite the difficulty, I hold on to faith. Every day I pray to God with all my heart: to lessen his pain, to bring him healing, and to grant him moments of comfort and peace. My faith reminds me that miracles are always possible, and that love and prayer can bring strength even in the darkest times. I cling to the hope that God is listening, that He sees my father’s struggle, and that He will bless him with relief.
Through it all, I remind myself that my presence, love, and care matter more than anything. Even if I cannot take away the pain, I can make sure my dad never faces it alone. I can hold his hand, speak gently to him, and remind him that he is deeply loved. And though my heart aches seeing him suffer, I remain grateful for every day I still have with him. Each moment is a gift, and I will treasure it as long as God allows. 🙏💔
