We played outside! Manhunt, roller skating. Always outside, had to be home when the street lights came on. You knew your neighbors well. Not like nowadays. Miss those times

Growing up, life felt so much simpler, and the best part of it all was that we practically lived outside. From the moment the sun came up until those streetlights flickered on, the neighborhood was our playground. We played manhunt, tag, kickball, roller skated up and down the sidewalks, and turned the smallest corners of our block into worlds of adventure. There was no need for endless gadgets or screens—our imaginations fueled the fun, and the only rule was to be home by the time the lights came on. What made it even more special was the way we knew our neighbors. Everyone looked out for each other, and it felt like one big extended family. If you skinned your knee while skating, a neighbor’s mom would patch you up before sending you back out. We didn’t just live near people—we grew up together, shared meals, laughter, and those little moments that built lifelong memories. When I look back, I can’t help but miss those days. The world felt safer, slower, and filled with a kind of joy that didn’t cost a dime. Nowadays, things are different—kids are glued to screens, neighborhoods are quieter, and that sense of community isn’t as strong. Those were the golden days, and I’ll forever treasure them. 💕
