Kids these days have no idea what some of us grew up with—and honestly, it’s hilarious to watch them try to figure it out. 😂😂 You can hand them something that was once so common in every household, and suddenly it’s like you’ve given them an artifact from a lost civilization. They’ll turn it over, poke at it, press buttons, and then run straight to Google or TikTok trying to type in: “What is this thing???”
It makes me laugh because for us, these items weren’t mysterious—they were just everyday life. We didn’t need instructions, we didn’t need a tutorial video, and we certainly didn’t need the internet to figure it out. We learned by watching our parents, by trial and error, or simply because it was all we had at the time. And yet now, something so normal for one generation looks like rocket science to the next.
There’s a strange joy in watching that gap play out. It reminds us of how much the world has changed in just a few short decades. Technology has advanced so fast that objects we once used daily are now practically museum pieces. But it also sparks nostalgia—a reminder of simpler times, when life wasn’t so fast-paced and when these “mysteries” were part of our routines.
So when kids scour the internet to figure it out, I can’t help but smile. One day, they’ll have their own relics of youth that the next generation won’t recognize. And maybe then, they’ll finally understand what we’re laughing about today. Until then, let’s enjoy the comedy of watching them try to solve the puzzle of our past. 😂🙌
