Today is Teddy’s birthday—a day that should be filled with treats, belly rubs, squeaky toys, and joyful barks. And while we’re doing our best to celebrate, there’s a softness in the air… a quiet ache beneath the party hat.
Teddy is here, and yet somehow… he's also waiting.
He’s a year older now, his sweet face touched with a bit more gray, his eyes still full of that loyal, bottomless love. We sang to him this morning, gave him his favorite treats, and watched him wag his tail—just a little slower than he used to, but just as sincerely.
And still, when the candles were lit, he glanced at the door.
Still hoping. Still waiting. Still missing someone.
Because birthdays don’t stop just because hearts feel heavy. Love doesn’t fade just because time passes. And dogs—especially dogs like Teddy—don’t forget the people who made them feel most at home.
