Our precious Laci Mae crossed over the Rainbow Bridge tonight at 5pm. She was 14 years old, a deeply loved part of our family, and saying goodbye has broken my heart into pieces. Recently diagnosed with aggressive mouth cancer, her condition declined so quickly. We had hoped for more time, just a little more time to savor her warm presence and loving spirit — but it wasn’t meant to be.

Everyone who met Laci Mae instantly knew how special she was. She wasn’t just a dog — she was a light, a loyal shadow, a best friend with a wagging tail. She had the kindest eyes and the most devoted heart. She greeted every guest with warmth and always knew when someone needed a little extra love. She had a way of comforting without a word, just quietly laying her head on your lap or nudging your hand with her nose. Laci didn’t ask for much, but gave everything in return.
She was, without a doubt, a “mama’s girl.” Wherever I went, she followed. She curled up beside me when I was tired, sat at my feet while I worked, and watched me with those soulful eyes that said everything without a single bark. Her devotion was unwavering, her love unconditional.
Though I know she is no longer in pain, it’s hard to breathe without her here. The house feels quieter. Her bed sits empty. There’s a stillness where there used to be joyful paws padding across the floor. But in my heart, I carry every moment we shared — the walks, the cuddles, the way she’d tilt her head when I spoke, and the peaceful way she’d fall asleep knowing she was safe and loved.
Tonight, the sky gained a new star, and Heaven gained a piece of my heart. Laci Mae, you were such a good girl — the best girl. Thank you for every moment, every memory, every ounce of love. Run free now, sweet girl. Chase butterflies, bask in the sun, and wait for me at the Rainbow Bridge.
